Phoebe Turner Azmi is the Community Impact & Equity Coordinator for Mind the Gap. A graduate of the historically women’s Smith College, she earned a degree in Theater and Community Engagement and Social Change centered on compassion, social justice, community impact and vision. She is a dreamer, a writer, storyteller, and an optimist.
Her multicultural upbringing in France and the Netherlands shaped her commitment to global citizenship. Her conversion to Islam has brought her back to her people, brought the global community back into her life and centered peace and generosity in all she does. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband Atheek Muhammed Azmi and splits her travels between Charlotte where she visits her North Carolina family and going back to Sri Lanka to visit her loving and incredible in-laws. The world has been her oyster, has created a humanist and a believer in her that she will always carry close.
Phoebe Turner Azmi is committed to joy, upliftment and social justice. She is known to be a heartfelt and committed worker with dedication and determination. In light of her own struggles as a highly-sensitive human, she hopes to become a therapist for others needing a lifeline. She also keeps her creative side alive through dance, song and creative writing as much as she can.
