Internship Program

We offer students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while supporting mental health initiatives in the greater Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. Interns will assist with tasks such as communications, research, and program support; as well as play an essential role in keeping our website database and resources up to date.

The program is open to college students; eligibility begins the summer after freshman year. The commitment is +/-10 hours per week. Internships are offered every semester: spring, summer, and fall.

We offer a $1,000 stipend for the semester-long internship. The internship may also be eligible for course credit.

Learning opportunities and responsibilities include:

Administrative Support
  • Managing emails, phone calls, and scheduling appointments
  • Organizing and maintaining database of Resource Hub
  • Assisting with grant writing and funding applications
  • Taking notes during meetings and helping coordinate team activities
  • Helping organize mental health awareness events and workshops
  • Assisting with outreach programs and community engagement initiatives
  • Creating and distributing educational materials about mental health
  • Updating social media accounts with mental health posts/reels and event information
  • Writing content for newsletters or blogs about mental health topics
  • Helping maintain the organization’s website
  • Creating and distributing promotional materials for programs and events
  • Gathering statistics and research on mental health issues
  • Helping evaluate program effectiveness through surveys and data collection
  • Compiling reports on the organization’s impact
  • Researching best practices and new developments in mental health services
  • Scheduling and joining “Meet the Executive Director” interviews for website
  • Finding examples of “Setbacks” to share
