Hidden Struggles: A Community Conversation About Teen Mental Health

Teenagers don’t always show us when they’re struggling. Sometimes the signs are subtle, and knowing what to notice or what to say can feel overwhelming.

Join The Charlotte Observer on Monday, September 21st at 6:30 PM, for Hidden Struggles, a free community conversation focused on teen mental health and suicide prevention. The evening will offer parents, caregivers, educators, and other caring adults an opportunity to learn, listen, and better understand how to support the young people in their lives.

The conversation will explore:

  • What adults should recognize when a teen may be struggling
  • How to start meaningful, supportive conversations
  • What to say and what not to say when you’re concerned
  • How adults can connect young people and families with help and support

Mind the Gap will be part of the resource area, alongside local mental-health and suicide-prevention organizations. We’ll be there to help attendees navigate available resources and connect with organizations that can support young people and families.

Because finding help shouldn’t feel like another barrier.
