Project 2 Heal is a nonprofit based in Waxhaw, North Carolina working to increase the availability of service dogs for veterans, children with special needs, and adults with disabilities by reducing necessary cost and time. We accomplish this through the expert husbandry and nurturing of world-class Labrador Retriever puppies, purpose-bred and donated to service dog training organizations nationwide. Project 2 Heal has several amazing programs for Charlotte locals: 1) The Chaperone Program at Project 2 Heal offers a unique opportunity for dedicated individuals to provide a permanent, loving home for our breeding dogs. As a chaperone, you will be responsible for the dog’s care throughout its life, with ownership transferred to you once the dog retires from its breeding duties. 2) Our Puppy Raising Program is a volunteer based program where temporary foster families or individuals provide a loving home for one of our service dogs in-training. 3) Take our puppies to work! Project 2 Heal works with major corporations throughout the Charlotte area to help improve employee satisfaction and company morale via Stress Down Days. Our staff transport a group of puppies to your location to spend 1.5-3 hours socializing with employees. 4) Volunteer: At Project 2 Heal, our volunteers are the driving force behind our mission. By sharing your time and talents, you play a vital role in raising, nurturing, and training service dogs that provide hope and independence to those in need.
