A program by Mental Health America of Central Carolinas, ParentVoice, offers parents and caregivers of youth with emotional, behavioral and/or mental health concerns “Family Support Specialists,” also known as Family Partners, who will work closely with families who are navigating the education, child welfare, mental health, and juvenile justice systems. They offer one-to-one support by preparing parents for and accompanying them to meetings with schools, service providers, and child & family teams. Family Partners also serve as an educational resource to parents and caregivers seeking ways to improve children’s ability to function successfully at home and in school.
